Less than That

Threatened by the kind mistakes
That nature makes
My accidents are not of grace
I fumble ugly
Spilling guts and dignity
Yet nature regal in each misstep
An art meagerly replicated
By the practiced student
Yet nature carelessly adapts
A turn of leaf
A flutter of tail or fin
Dusting off volcanic ash
Helped up by none
The earth picks itself up
And continues past.
